What's the film that you don't like to admit you love?
Honestly, there are more than I care to mention (oh and box sets that I can spend many a rainy winters evening indulging in!). One of my favourites though is the greatness that is Charlies Angels 2.
There is a scene in this film where Dylan (Drew Barrymore) has given up on her new life as an angel. She wants to return to her old life. She then has an apparition of Kelly Garrett (a former CA) who reminds her of whose she is and who he is and therefore who she is. I especially love it because they never actually 'see' Charlie but are always guided by his voice and his messengers. This fuels her hope and empowers her to get out of the place she is in - with true Charlies Angels Flair!
Back to my point: sometimes we need to remember whose we are, who He is, and therefore who we are! It's a longer one but read of Colossians 1:15-2:5, who does it say He is... Therefore who does it say We Are? Let it sink in. This is our Hope Fuel
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together...And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for he sees you as holy, flawless, and restored... do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.
Colossians 1:17, 22, 23
In every situation but especially when it seems dark, discouraging or desperate; remember whose you are. Everything you see is Jesus is the image of how God (the invisible) is. By Him, everything that is created was created through Him and for Him. Before anything was created He was and in Him, everything holds together - He's got you, He's holding you. He is better than anyone or anything else that you might think would help. He ALWAYS loves to draw you close to himself - no matter what! His joy is to continue working in your life making you more like him - He is NEVER angry with you. The gift of Holy Spirit in you, is a source for your hope and fuel for your endurance in your walk.
You Are The Hope Fuelled
Who could you encourage today? Who in your community needs to be reminded of whose they are, who He is and therefore who they are?
